There are four female and four male parents of different races to choose from, and the player may choose a pair of either heterosexual or homosexual parents. The vehicle expenses and mandatory purchase of said vehicles also are unbalanced. You have to fight your rapidly depleting meters while cursing your currency for not going up quickly enough. Then once you get towards the last three career promotions ( particularly the Vice President and presidential positions) it’s ungodly unbearable. So you have to stay on top of that but it’s so repetitive and boring and with little reward.
To make this even more unbearable, your character gets pissy for not upgrading quickly enough and your health/happiness/romance bars deteriorate at higher rates ( approximately 30 secs). There’s no background accumulation so it literally has to be actively on your screen to work. While I do like how you have to plan things out a few career promotions in advance, I can’t stand how you’re stuck on a singular path, how you’ll have a bunch of stuff progress at once and then at other points you have to literally stare at the screen for almost an hour to bump up on the totem.
